I think you may have problems finding a life-work-friends balance. Work gives us money, friends usually costs us money (time is also money). A workaholic wouldn't mind losing his friends due to him working all his life. If you are not a workaholic than losing your friends due to spending time at work would have hurt you. Anyway, friends are a good thing even for a workaholic. So, you need to find a proverbial 'golden mean'.

I bought an Xbox One (after being a lifelong Playstation guy) specifically so I could play online GTA with her. And we did, pretty much every day. Now we don't talk to each other and I find myself without anyone to play with. I won the car at the new casino (The Truffade Thrax. Never heard of it but it's slick AF and now it's mine) and I wish I still had her around to show it to.
